The water barely rippled as she entered. Sure in its footing, fate accompanied her naked body. Clouds meandered across the bright sky, the moon’s reflection danced in the calm water.
She had left the man’s bed after her whispered confession. His face collapsed in grief.
“I will miss you.” He tenderly replied in the stillness.
She made her way down the path strewn with autumn leaves, the colours dulled by shadows. Foliage dangled from the young trees on the hill.
Pondering his doom her lover buried his cheeks in moist arms and soaked shirt cuffs. Until they met he never believed in miracles.
Star light governed the heavens as he followed the path dictated by destiny.
His angel, who he promised to guard in this life and the next. He wouldn’t break his vow.
The water barely rippled as he entered to join her.
